Canada-Only Giveaway · Open September 9, 2026 to September 25, 2026
Try Not to Die in Canada
Canada gave Try Not to Die two of its finest — Steve Stred and Duncan Ralston — and both of them set their books somewhere else. Consider this our apology. Canadian readers only: answer one question to enter, and five winners take home Try Not to Die in Canada merch, paperbacks, and gift cards to real Canadian indie bookstores.
What you can win
First place
A Try Not to Die in Canada hoodie, a $35 CAD gift card to your choice of Nocturne Books (Calgary), Re-read Used Books (Ontario), or Raven's End Books (Winnipeg), and two paperbacks from the prize shelf.
Second place
A Try Not to Die in Canada shirt, a $20 CAD gift card to your choice of the same three bookstores, and one paperback from the prize shelf.
Third place
Your choice of a Try Not to Die mug or tote, and one paperback from the prize shelf.
Fourth and fifth
One paperback from the prize shelf.
Entry is open to Canadian residents only, and every prize ships anywhere in Canada. The prize shelf: Try Not to Die on Werewolf Island (ships on release), Try Not to Die at Ghostland, Who's Satan Inside?, Dethfest Confessions, or any Try Not to Die title — winner's choice, unsigned paperbacks. If 150 people enter, the search for a new Canadian Try Not to Die author begins, and suggestions are welcome.
