Try Not to Die in This Damned House
An Extreme Interactive Adventure
Four stories. One damned house. No safe room.
Some houses contain a single secret. This one contains four complete nightmares. Try Not to Die: In This Damned House presents four interactive stories connected by a location built for suffering, temptation, and violent consequence. Each story creates a different entry point, threat, and pattern of choices while preserving the central promise that the reader controls what happens next. Written solely by Robert Essig, the book became the first official Extreme Horror edition in the Try Not to Die catalog. Its purpose is not to provide a slightly harsher version of the standard line; it clearly signals adult content, explicit violence, and a different intensity expectation. The four-story structure also creates strong replay value and makes the title a natural bridge between interactive fiction, extreme horror, and short-form experimentation.
